We just launched OPOTA-approved de-escalation training using MILO 300 simulator in Mason, Ohio

New program gives Ohio police officers immersive, scenario-based de-escalation certification at Resolution Tactics’ Mason training facility.

MASON, OH — Resolution Tactics announced the launch of its de-escalation training program, approved by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA), delivered through its MILO 300 simulator at the company’s Mason, Ohio facility. The program gives Ohio law enforcement agencies a certified, immersive option for fulfilling state-mandated continuing education requirements in de-escalation.

The MILO 300 is a multi-screen use-of-force simulator that places officers in branching, video-based scenarios — from mental health crises to domestic disputes to traffic stops — where their verbal and tactical choices directly change how the scenario unfolds. Paired with Resolution Tactics’ OPOTA-approved curriculum, the simulator allows officers to practice de-escalation techniques in a realistic, repeatable environment rather than relying on classroom instruction alone.

“De-escalation isn’t something you can learn from a slide deck,” said Scott Meyer, co-owner at Resolution Tactics. “The MILO 300 lets officers actually work through a tense encounter, make a call, see the consequence, and try again. That kind of repetition builds the instincts officers need when it counts.”
