Something Unexpected Is Happening at Resolution Tactics!
When Scott and I dreamed up Resolution Tactics, we had a pretty clear vision—we wanted to create a place where people could train, learn, build confidence and become better prepared to protect themselves and the people they care about.
We knew we wanted to use the simulator technology and offer something completely new and different for most folks. We wanted people to feel comfortable here. We wanted people to walk through the door and know they were in a place where they could learn without judgment and become more confident in their abilities. But something unexpected is happening—Resolution Tactics is becoming a community.
Resolution Tactics is becoming a community.
Honestly, I couldn't be more excited or more honored. I'm starting to see members arrive early for their simulator sessions and just hang out for a while. They'll grab a drink, chat with Scott and me, catch up with friends they've brought with them, and then eventually head into their training session. And afterward? They don't necessarily rush out the door. They stay. They talk. They laugh. They make plans to come back. Those moments are some of my favorite things happening here. That's when I realized we're creating something bigger than the training facility we originally imagined—we're becoming a "third place."
We're becoming a "third place."
There's a term I've always loved: the third place. Home is your first place. Work is your second. A third place is somewhere you choose to spend time—a place where you can connect with other people, develop relationships, learn something new, relax, laugh and simply feel like you belong. That's what Resolution Tactics is becoming—not instead of what we envisioned, but in addition to it.
Recently, we began hosting mahjong classes. I'll admit, mahjong might seem like an unexpected fit for a place called Resolution Tactics. I have been wanting to learn the game, and I've been looking for my own third place since moving to the area just a few years ago. So, the more I think about it, the more it makes perfect sense. Mahjong brings people together. It gives people an opportunity to learn something new, challenge themselves, laugh, socialize and build friendships. And that's exactly what we are creating here.
You're welcome to join us on Wednesday evenings for mahjong. You can read more about our mahjong offerings and register here: https://www.daytonmahj.com (look for the Events Calendar and offerings at Mason/Deerfield & Resolution Tactics).
And mahjong isn't the only way to be part of this community. I teach yoga here, too, including opportunities to slow down, move, breathe and take care of ourselves. I have been teaching gentle yoga for seven years and I'm used to teaching beginners and seniors, so you don't have to have any prior experience to enjoy the benefits of yoga!
We have simulator experiences that allow people to practice decision-making and personal safety in a safe environment. We offer classes designed to build confidence and practical skills. I especially love helping women build confidence!
And we're continuing to explore new ways for people to connect. Because maybe the thing that ties all of these activities together isn't what we're doing—it's why we're doing it.
It's why we're doing it.
We're creating opportunities for people to become a little more confident. A little more capable. A little more connected.
We're creating a place where people can learn something new, meet someone they wouldn't otherwise have met, bring a friend, try something outside their comfort zone—or simply spend a couple of hours somewhere they enjoy being.
And ultimately, that's about personal safety, too. Feeling safe isn't only about knowing what to do in an emergency. It's also about feeling confident in yourself: knowing that you have people around you, having a place where you feel welcome, building relationships, taking care of your physical and mental well-being. Belonging matters!
Belonging matters!
Come see what we're becoming—we'd love for you to be part of it.
Our Experience Day & Open House is Saturday, August 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., it's a free event, and it's a perfect opportunity to come see Resolution Tactics for yourself. Come meet us. Explore the facility. Try some of what we offer. Learn about our simulator, personal safety programs and other training opportunities. Meet some of the people who are already becoming part of this community. Register for our Experience Day here.
Bring a friend. Stay for a while. Ask questions.
Try a Byrna Launcher—we are an authorized Byrna dealer and you can try it out here, too!
Learn more about our Pepper Spray training.
Or maybe you'll come simply because you're looking for a place where you can connect with good people.
Whatever brings you through the door, we'd love to have you here.
